blogging…for my classes?

This is the first time that I’ve used blogging. So far, I’ve managed to create my categories and fix my site how I want to. I’m still a little concerned about a couple of things. First of all, how often should I be checking the site (is it time efficient on the part of the teacher?) I’m worried that my students will begin to misuse the blogs and not write about what I ask them to write. I’m concerned for my ESL students. Will they feel comfortable using the blog and getting feedback from other students and teachers? My school is also very data driven. Where can I find data that shows student improvement in the area of writing because blogs were part of the curriculum?
